Ladder Christmas Tree

I am so excited to share my Christmas tree with you this year!

Last Summer, Mr. Cookie Puzzle was doing a cleanup job, and I went to visit him. I spotted an old wooden ladder in the garage and grabbed it.  It was falling apart and in pretty bad shape, but I saw something great for our new house.

My original plan was shelving for the bathroom, but that did not work out.  Then I saw THIS Ladder Christmas Tree at Funky Junk Interiors...and my heat skipped a beat!

I am in love with this tree....and am tempted to keep it up all year long!

I first took 400 white Christmas Lights, and lit her up!

I then hung vintage Christmas ornaments on the light wires. Next I just looked around my house and put old stuff on the steps of the ladder.  This one has a old brass lantern that I put a battery operated tea light in, and an antique clock.

The next step hold an old telephone insulator, also sporting a sporting a battery operated tea light, to add some glow to it.

Next came an "old and new" step, with an antique Ball Canning Jar next to a New Ball Caning Jar.  You can also see that Collin joined the fun, adding Candy Canes, because EVERY TREE needs Candy Canes.

The shelf above that holds another new canning jar and a blue telephone insulator.

I could not find a star or angle that I liked this year, to I topped the ladder with an vintage plastic Santa and one of Collin's Nut Crackers, with  another insulator between them.  You can also see the antique train lantern, I placed in the the paint shelf on the back of the ladder.

I am so happy with how this tree turned out and I think it is perfect for our simple rustic house.  How about you, do you have your tree up yet?  Do you have a theme, or do you just put random ornaments you have on it.

  5. Many early Christmas bulbs were shaped to look like what they had replaced: the classic Christmas tree candle. The candle shape fell out of vogue, and in time new varieties shaped like glass balls, animals, lanterns and Santa figures hit the scene.outdoor christmas decorations
