I have been seeing Baked Donuts all over
Pinterests and Blogs.
They look so very yummy, so
last week I purchased a donut pan
and made donuts!
I don't mean to toot my own horn,
but these were GOOD!
I mean so good that Mr. Cookie Puzzle and Collin,
ate them ALL! Well, I ate a few too, but the majority
of them went in THEIR bellies!
I used a cake mix for these, so they
whipped up very quickly.
I only had one, six cavity pan, so I could
only make six at a time, but with a 7 minute baking
time, I had a batch done pretty quickly.
I think I will be buying another pan soon, and
playing around with other flavor combinations.

Triple Chocolate Donuts
by
Ingredients
- 1(15.25 oz) Chocolate Cake Mix
- 3/4 cup buttermilk see note
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- if you don't have buttermilk you can mix 2 teaspoons white vinegar + enough milk to make 3/4, let sit for 5 minutes before using
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder, I used Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 tablespoons milk, more or less if needed
- chocolate sprinkles for garnish
Instructions
For Donuts
Preheat oven to 425. Spray donut pan with cooking spray. Mix cake mix, buttermilk, eggs and melted butter until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Place batter in a large piping bag or ziploc bag, with small corner cut off. Fill the donut cavities about 2/3 full. Bake for 7 minutes. Let donuts sit in pan for 5 minutes before removing to cooling rack to cool completely.
For Glaze
Mix all glaze ingredients well in a medium bowl. If glaze appears too thick to coat donuts, add more milk. Dip each donut in glaze, place on cooling rack on top of a cookie sheet, top with chocolate sprinkles.
I've never made donuts either, but I'm thinking it could also be about time. I'm seriously missing out! These look delicious :-)
ReplyDeleteWould love for you to share at our Marvelous Monday link party on Smart Party Planning :-)

DeleteThank you so much for inviting me to your party.....Have a great week!
DeleteThe donuts look delicious. I think they might be illegal!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure they are illegal Rachel...that is why we had to eat them all and destroy all the evidence.
DeleteDonuts are something I have really wanted to make for awhile, but I miserably failed at bagels (3 times) so it got put on the back burner. These look so yummy though!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried making bagels...but I can tell you that these donuts are super easy...give them a try!

DeleteI have been seeing baked dounts everywhere too, but have never tried them. Are they all they're cracked up to be? If so, I've gotta get some up on my blog!
ReplyDeleteOh Lina....they are soooo what they are cracked to be....and more! Really....I think this batch make like 22 donuts....and they were gone in 3 days....and there are only three of us.....so yummy!
DeleteYour donuts look so good! =) I have been thinking about getting a donut pan ( donuts are my weakness... ) =D

ReplyDeleteDefinitely my kind of treat :)
They are crazy good....I can not wait to try other flavor combinations. Thank you for stopping by
DeleteI wish I had the pan for these! So tempting! Hello from Lou Lou Girls Fabulous Party.
ReplyDeleteYou can make these even without a pan...a mini cupcake pan would work just fine!
DeleteCongrats on your new donut pan! Homemade donuts are a one way road ;) I got a regular pan and a mini donut one a while ago, then quickly got one more of each because the waiting times are too annoying otherwise. My favorites are chocolate glazed donuts (the ones dunked in white icing), but I wouldn't mind these either :)
ReplyDeleteI still need to get another pan...who has time to make 6 donuts at a time? Well...I do...but another one would be nice to have.
